We are all familiar with denim. Despite the fact that fashion is constantly changing, it feels like denim remains the basis of any wardrobe. This year many retailers breathed new life into denim skirts. They became more diverse and unique. You are about to see stunning designs from floor-length skirts with buttons to asymmetric minis. What I love the most is that a denim skirt can be worn with anything, starting from t-shirts, tucked-in sweaters, hoodies, tops, jackets, to shirts, long cardigans, and even puffy jackets.
Anyway, I am sure you already know how to wear denim skirts. However, I would like to share my personal opinion about this style.
What I really like about denim skirts is that they look great on all body types and ages. They can be worn in casual situations with t-shirts and sneakers or in more formal events with a blazer.
This summer it is very fashionable to pair denim skirts with bright tops and sneakers such as Converse All Stars sneakers or high heels such as platform heels, sandals or gladiator sandals.
Denim skirts are great for everyday wear. They are good for work because there are certain models that look professional and chic. In addition to being comfortable, they tend to have a more relaxed and fun style than other formal skirts. I think that denim skirts are perfect to wear during the summer while having fun at the beach or at the beach club and also for everyday wear when you want to look cool yet casual.
What Denim Skirts Are In Style
A versatile and practical denim skirt is a must-have for most women. In today’s post we are going to find out what denim skirt trends are happening right now and what styles are going to stay in trend for the next season.
First of all, I wanted to make it clear and say that denim skirts are like skinny jeans, they will never go out of fashion. Why? This is a basic bottom piece in women’s wardrobe and an absolute must-have for spring and summer seasons. This year, we see that lots of fashionistas appear on the streets wearing long denim skirts. But it doesn’t mean that long denim skirts are the only styles you should wear. You can try whatever style you like, starting from minis, midis to maxis, asymmetric, buttoned, zipped, patched, and whatever style comes in your mind.
Denim Midi skirt
There is a special charm in dresses and skirts, which length ends somewhere between the knee and the ankle. And this is exactly the right option that you should bet on this spring and summer season. Complement this skirt with a stylish bodysuit, white shirt or a basic t-shirt, and complete the look by adding a pair of chunky sneakers or trendy mules. As for the skirt itself, go for a straight style with side slits so that your feet can get some sun.
White denim skirt
A cool alternative to blue denim, of course, is the white-colored denim skirt. This is a great option for the warm seasons. If you like colorful blouses and t-shirts, this denim will help emphasize your beautiful top, but you can still combine white denim with classic black and white tops.
Denim skirt with buttons
If you like a more sophisticated look, how about wearing a skirt with some extra details, such as a raw hem, light asymmetric cut, buttons, patch pockets or a belt to emphasize the waist. The buttoned denim skirts are perfect for creating sporty style combos completed with oversize sweatshirts and chunky sneakers, as well as seventies-inspired looks.
Leopard print denim skirt
When you want to let your animal nature out, an animal print will come to the rescue. A cool “wild” accent can be done with the help of a leopard print denim skirt. Make sure to keep the rest of your outfit neutral colored, otherwise you gonna be lost in all these bright prints and colors. For example, a leopard print denim skirt can be paired with white or cream top in the form of a t-shirt, or a bodysuit.
Black Denim Skirt
Another versatile option that is worth paying attention to is a black midi or a maxi length denim skirt with a side or front split. The unique advantage is that this skirt can be worn any season you like, from Summer to Fall. Plus, you can wear this bottom piece for any occasion.
With What To Wear Denim Skirts
If you have already thrown your denim skirt somewhere deep down into the closet, get it out immediately. As I am here to tell you what to wear a denim skirt to look stylish, modern, and original. A denim skirt is an ideal choice: it is very easy to combine with other clothes and accessories. This year we see a new denim trend: long denim skirts. But it doesn’t mean that other lengths are should be abandoned, you can still play around with your old denim.
Denim Skirt With a Shirt
Don’t know what to wear with a denim skirt? Then go for shirts. The combination of a loose shirt and a denim skirt looks very elegant and feminine – a great choice for office visits, exhibitions, or fashion shows.
With a t-shirt
T-shirts with bright prints or monochrome designs can be either tucked in or out. The skirts made of blue denim look amazing with white t-shirts. But you are free to experiment with different hues.
With a white shirt
Don’t know what to wear a denim skirt? Feel free to combine it with a white shirt – I am sure that it is a perfect look for any body shape. The white and blue colors perfectly combine with each other. This look creates a contrasting tandem.
With a blue shirt
Another wonderful option: a tandem of a denim skirt and blue shirt. You can easily create an airy outfit, which is ideal for the summer season. Complete the look by adding chic accessories colored in camel, white, cream, or black.
With a romantic blouse
This summer, we recommend combining a denim skirt with light, airy and girlish blouses completed with ruffles or flounces. You can complement the look by adding flat sandals, heeled sandals, or fancy sneakers.
Denim Skirt With Bodysuit
I am in love with this combo. It’s easy to wear in real life. You are free to complete the look by adding any kind of layering, starting from cardigans to kimonos.

Denim Skirt With Sandals
In my humble opinion, denim skirts are best combined with heeled sandals. It is not so important whether it is a stiletto, block heel, or a kitten heel – these shoes make the look more feminine, elegant. Short skirts can also be combined with sandals, mules, or espadrilles. Try different combinations and choose your favorite!
Denim Skirt With Pumps
Another cool option for wearing denim skirts is choosing pumps. I love wearing these shoes, they make my outfit look glamour and sophisticated. Choose only those styles that complete your outfit and underline your individuality.
Denim Skirt With Boots
If we talk about cold-weather looks, then the best combo for wearing denim skirt is by teaming it with boots. I love to see women wearing chunky boots, this makes them look grunge and rock chic inspired.
The denim skirt is a summer staple that looks just as cool (if not cooler) going into fall. On the streets specifically, fashion girls have been demonstrating the best denim-skirt outfits for fall. Short hemlines juxtaposed with oversize sweaters and cold-weather boots make for an instant cool-girl outfit, while longer denim skirts provide a more elevated (and seasonally fitting) take on the laid-back trend. Which one of these denim-skirt outfits is your favorite one, let me know in the comments below.
